Trip report – Day 1
Getting our trip on Patricia Helen underway, after a thorough and entertaining briefing from Colin, and an awesome demo of boat handling by – was it Peter? – we set off.
Finally got Gunner the guide dog puppy on board – he wasn’t at all sure!
Made it through the Stockton Locks before the light started to fade, so we moored up for the night near Long Itchington.
Our journey down on the M6 from Scotland was a bit of a nightmare with roadworks, 50mph limits and torrential rain. So It’s great to be back on the canals with 4mph speed limits and a lot less stress!
We’re planning to head in the general direction of Stratford on Avon – but we might turn back at Wilmcote if that schedule proves too ambitious.
