Trip report – Day 2
Woke at 7am to a beautiful sunny morning with just a trace of mist over the canal burning off in the sunshine.
Got underway by 8:15 – did our first ever staircase lock at Bascote Wharf – (a bit of a muddle, but quickly sorted with help from a more experienced crew).
Over a very rushed lunch on the outskirts of Leamington Spa, we decided that the schedule needed to reach Stratford-on-Avon was more demanding than we wanted, so we’ll be turning at Wilmcote instead.
With that decided, we had a much more fun and relaxed afternoon cruising through Leamington and Warwick, before mooring up at the bottom of the Hatton flight – which we’ll be tackling in the morning.
